YAY! For Recycling!!

I cut out a small paragraph from a magazine awhile back on recycling thru Toshiba for free---I *finally* went to the site today...I recently sent in an old cellphone to Swagbucks-but I have an old ipod that has a ton of scratches & you can't read the # on the back, which is needed to send it in to Swagbucks. So, I went to the Toshiba site, filled in the info-& printed out the label for it. I'm excited, because from now until 1/31/09 when you recycle something (electronics) thru Toshiba, you get a $10 Starbucks Gift card!!

Andy's 'Ultimate Grilled Cheese'

Yeah.

Grated Pepper Jack Cheese

Tabasco Spicy Pepperoni

Cubes of Ham (leftovers from new year's day)

He said it was spicy. LoL, I bet.

I have to admit, it looked pretty tasty...my tummy just didn't want any food. =(

Bright Ideas!

I grabbed a brown paper bag, and began to neatly place some of my massive pile of paper in my hallway into it. One item being a HUGE gift bag that I had my son's too-big-to-be-worn clothes in the basement in. (I brought that & 2 garbage bags up this past week & went thru them, as he's growing rather quickly...) The gift bag was ratty tatty, falling apart & bent in a billion different places, leaving thousands of creases. I noticed the handle was still there on the one side (the shoelace like material that can be reused in many of my crafts)-so I tore it off. Then, as I stood there struggling to fold the danged thing, I realized there were a lot of sections that were crease-free. My first thought was 'scrapbook pieces'! Then, 'noo...gift tags!!!!!!'...Needless to say, the gift bag was much easier to put into the brown paper bag about 20 minutes later. =)
In the bag are also 2 cut-up x.mas cards from this year, and 4 gift tags from a tissue box! Yes...my tissue box looked festive to me. =)

& More Deals..

As most of you know, the Garnier hair products were on sale @ Walgreens this week-$2.99 each (which, if you ask me, isn't a sale.) w/ a $2.00 off coupon in their easy saver catalog-coupled w/ your $1 manufacture coupon =.01 overage. I took advantage of that when I stopped in search of ibuprofen..my stock needed replenishing after I took my lovely spill & then woke up w/ an enormously obnoxious cold. Turns out their ibuprofen was on sale B1G1 (the walgreens brand)-and they have a $1 coupon in their easy saver...the coupon rang up twice (both did, actually, even though I only handed him 1, but I bought 2 of each product)-so it was $1.33 for the 2--my total w/ taxes was $2.54. Not bad at all. =) I used a g.card to pay for it, so I paid nothing. I went to another Walgreens further down the street (in search of an easy saver catalog, progresso soup & hunt's tomato sauce)--i got the soup (in-ad coupon 4/$5.00, sunday paper coupon $1.00 off 4)-and sauce, and needed tylenol for my teething & sick son--I had a coupon for $2.50 off of 2--so I was prepared to dish out some cash (well, a good portion of my gift card, LOL)-but instead, I found Children's Tylenols with peelies on them for $1.50 off-so I just bought the 1. I might go back next week & get more if they're still there. =)

Let's see....what else...oh! SuperBowl is coming up--I had to stop @ Wegmans tonight on my way home from work to pick up a 12pk of toilet paper while they were still on sale (not to mention before we ran out, especially considering we're out of tissues, and I've already went thru 1 roll of t.p. with my nose!) for $4.99 (I know, I could have bought brand name t.p. w/ coupons for cheaper, but I didn't feel like it.)- and I went thru the beer section & grabbed a form for the $5.00 mail in rebate for Labbatt--which, for the record, comes in pretty quick-we sent in for the $4.00 one when it was around a few months ago--and grabbed a 'party guide' from coorss which has a few rebate offers inside.

Deals......

I recently sent in for a $10 Shutterfly gift card using a mail-in form & my receipts from purchasing 3 packages of LUVS from Save-A-Lot (not a biggie, as we use Luvs...)--and had to create an account to redeem my g.card. I then received 25 free prints. Today, I got an email for 15 free prints. I have 3 email accounts, and on my OTHER email account, I received an email for a free calendar. I guess after I made my account, I signed off, then when I wanted to redeem my g.card (I haven't used it all up yet.) I made an account w/ my other email-I get confused frequently by my emails. I need to actually get each account specified for one specific thing! But anyways-those are great deals. The calendar one expires on Monday, so hopefully tomorrow I will have time to create & order it. If not, no biggie...we have calendars here. =)

More photo deals:
--http://www.clarkcolor.com/registration 40 free prints @ sign up

--www.shutterfly.com 25 free prints--they also have a new Share Site where you upload your photos to share w/ people, and you get 30 free prints just for doing that, and then you can receive 10 free prints for each week you upload photos to the site until 2/13/09. I've received a few emails on that-I've been uploading to the regular albums, but once I'm done with that, I'll be uploading onto the Share Site & I'll let you know how that goes!

--Kodak Gallery, 75 free prints-exp. 1/31/09 (after that, they will still have free prints, as they always do, just not as many.)

--CVS -50 free prints (something like 30 @ sign up, and 20 for uploading photos)

--www.snapfish.com 50 free prints, and they ALWAYS have a TON of deals. I received a $10 gift certificate for there for x.mas, so I'm excited to use that. Along w/ all of my other deals, I will be able to FINALLY catch up on all my photos, and continue my son's scrapbook!!! I'm a 'click a holic' as my cousin calls me, so you can only imagine how much $ I'd be paying to photo sites if it weren't for all these offers. The greatest part is that they don't restrict it to per household, only per email! I've made accounts with 2 of my 3 emails, as well as Andy's email-all paying w/ the same credit card, and it's all worked out great!

snow & ice..

Oh yeah, so we had that snowstorm...then it melted ! (it was like 40-60 out & super sunny), then it snowed AGAIN!

So right now, there's snow outside, of course...& it rained the other day, which quickly turned into ice. Yesterday morning, Andy said 'it's icy out, honey'-so I put on my boots...Jordan & I were driving Andy into work so that I could have the van to take Jordan into the dr's, and to go to the WIC office & get a new i.d. (i lost mine during one of the storms)--I went down the porch steps, and took one step on the long concrete landing that is right before 2-3 steps leading to the sidewalk-and BAM! Next thing I knew, my feet were in the air above my head, followed by an explosion of hot pain & darkness...followed by me screaming @ the top of my lungs 'OW! ANDY! MY HEAD! OW!!!' and then balling my eyes out...for an hour & 1/2. I had Andy call my doctor (I swear I thought I was dying!) and they said to come in @ 9a.m. when they opened-it was just before 7 at that point. We went in-I got a concussion (fun, fun), and I had her check Jordan's ears while we were there-and he doesn't have an ear infection again (he just got over a double one..yuck!) thank god. Hopefully his ear flicking just has to do w/ his teeth-and his ear wax the dr. said is in there, LoL.
Needless to say, I also sent Andy out for rock salt yesterday. =)

Thrift shops...

I have to admit, I *love* thrift shops, consignment shops & yard sales...as well as craigslist & ebay! Why pay full price for something I can pay 1/2 price for, especially if it's for my son who will only outgrow it or get bored with it all too quickly.
Naturally, then, the disturbing news of this ridiculous new law that will require lead testing on all products (clothing & toys) for children under age 12, is upsetting. So many secondhand stores will be closing. Unless we get more hand-me-downs from friends/family, we will be forced to purchase everything brand new for my son. Unless we magically fall upon more $, we will struggle greatly purchasing everything new.
Here & here
is an article on the law, & I'm sure if you google it (swagbucks! haha) you can find many many more.
Also, here is the link to Brian Higgins, my congressman-please email him &/or your own congressman & other officials in an attempt to stop this law from happening (due to go into effect on feb. 10th 2009!)
